Hi everyone! I’m Tyler, the owner of Off-Grid Outfitters Apparel. I wanted to share a little about myself and Off-Grid Outfitters and why I started it. The idea started long before I even started working on a website and apparel. 

For me, that spark came the day I met Skip. If you’re from Lewiston, ID, you probably know him; a local backcountry and cub pilot who’s spent more hours than most exploring the quiet corners of the mountains, all over the world. What I didn’t know then was how much he would impact my life. Skip took me under his wing without hesitation. He introduced me to the raw, beautiful, humbling world of backcountry flying in his Super Cub, and he’s the one who taught me everything I know today about flying tailwheel.

The early mornings on grass strips, flying to the fishing spots, and the confidence he helped me build as a pilot, they shaped me more than I can put into words. Skip is the reason this brand got started. 

And then, over the last year, life gave me another gift; the chance to work alongside CubCrafters. Being surrounded by their airplanes, and the missions they’re made for, deepened everything. My passion, my purpose, my respect for what backcountry aviation truly is.

Off-Grid Outfitters is a reflection of all of it:
the mentors who believed in me,
the airplanes that carried me,
the mountains that humbled me,
and the feeling of freedom that comes from landing off the pavement.

This brand is my way of honoring the people who shaped my journey and inviting others into the adventure. Whether you’re a seasoned backcountry pilot, someone dreaming of your first flight lesson, or just someone who craves the adventure in wild places. Here’s to the ones who chase horizons, follow riverbeds, chase adrenaline, and touch down where the pavement ends.
